As you no doubt recall, a number of my reviews have been doing double duty fulfilling the requirements of other challenges around the interwebs. They have all been fun and most have led me to something really special that I wouldn't have come across otherwise. The Grand Master Review Challenge has been something different. Where most other challenges offer the satisfaction of participation, the WWEND promises Everlasting Glory. Real, tangible, eternal glory. Everlasting Glory. Is there something more worthy of my every last effort? Likely, there is not.
Naturally, I've been doing my damnedest to achieve such a lofty goal and last month, after numerous entries into the monthly poll, my review of Way Station was placed on the same pedestal as some really great book reviewers. Whether I really did the book any justice, I'm not sure. I am quite happy to have won though.
Later, the same weekend it was called to my attention (thanks Emil) that my review of Dreamsnake had garnered a quote on an ebook website Book View Cafe. I don't read many ebooks so I'd never heard of the site, but it was flattering nonetheless. Of course it was also Father's day weekend when the poll ended which meant that my daughter made me a sweet and almost completely unintelligible card. It was a great weekend.
