Anyway, I'm poking my head out from my GRE study hole to complain that this album never won a Hugo?!
This album should have won the 2001 Best Related Work. Just look at this description from wikipedia:
I'm at a loss for why it didn't even receive a nomination. How often do hip-hop and science fiction intersect AND this one achieved rather popular appeal. I have to imagine it warranted a blip on the radar."The album's story casts Del in the role of Deltron Zero, a disillusioned mech soldier and interplanetary computer prodigy rebelling against a 31st century New World Order. In a world where evil oligarchs suppress both human rights and hip-hop, Del fights rap battles against a series of foes, becoming Galactic Rhyme Federation Champion."
The whole album is great but 'Virus' was special fun:
So, sorry for the continued absence but I'll be back permanently very soon. Until then...upgrade your grey matter!
I'm so glad you posted these! Both are really cool...I think I prefer the feel of 3030 more.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much love hip hop in any alternative/unconventional setting.
Glad you liked 'em too. I like 3030 better also.
